Let's make sure we're a good fit!
My waitlist is kind of long, so I want to make sure the right people end up on it.

I AM a good fit if you are:
-
Having problems that you know or think are related to perimenopause or menopause, feeling concerned or confused about the menopause transition and want to understand self care and what's ahead, or, if you've been referred to me for help with something not related to menopause or perimenopause.
-
Willing to have in-person visits at least once per year, including for our initial visit.
-
Interested in evidence-based care following commonly accepted guidelines, including generally using FDA approved medications when hormone therapies are used.
-
You understand that hormones are only a medication and they're not an appropriate medication for every peri/menopausal person.

I am NOT a good fit for people who want to use hormone therapies outside of commonly accepted guidelines. Examples:
-
Believing hormones can solve any problem in perimenopause or menopause, if only we get the right mix or the right dose.
-
Believing every menopausal or perimenopausal person is hormone "deficient" and needs hormones.
-
Believing there is an "optimal" blood level of particular hormones, or wanting frequent hormone testing.
-
Believing we can prevent dementia or cardiovascular disease with hormone therapy.* (with some exceptions based on timing of menopause or removal of ovaries)
-
Believing menopausal hormone therapy should include testosterone therapy or having strong motivation to start testosterone therapy.

If you hold any of the 5 beliefs/goals above, I predict that our visit will be unsatisfying for you and I recommend you seek out a different provider such as someone working in the quasi-medical field of "anti-aging medicine". I am also not a good fit for those seeking medically supported weight loss.
Finally, another group of patients who will be better served by other providers:

-
If you went through primary ovarian insufficiency (POI - last period before age 40) - I recommend you see an endocrinologist or OB/GYN because this is different from menopause and needs specialist care.
